This first post is for the smaller stuff. Expect many edits in all of the posts in this thread.
Burst Lock
Tiny buttons (toggle push-on/push-off) on the main GUI next to weapon that allow user to lock a single/burst combo gun (like LSW) in burst-only mode, and not allow single shots at all, in cases like LSW where gun has 3 modes: Single, Burst, Reload. This will reduce incidents where player sets gun to burst, goes into a fight, shoots but fails to burst, only to find his gun has surprisingly switched to Single mode.
Full Clip No-Reload
When a weapon has a full clip, and cannot be reloaded anyway, fix so gun cannot be in Reload mode. Try it, and it goes straight to burst mode if clip is full. This will reduce incidents where player puts gun on burst, goes into a fight but cannot shoot only to find his gun is somehow in Reload mode.
Sniper Lock
Same as above, but used to lock gun in Single shot mode, in cases where no bursting is wanted.
Aggressive Cows
Bring back aggressive cows. It was cute at the end of 2238, but turned up too high. Shovel poo and there's a chance a nearby brahmin will try to knock you down.
Poo Stinks
Get a Charisma penalty when carrying any poo. Shoveling poo should give CH penalty on a timer, unless you wear Rubber Boots.
Sink Holes
When walking in the desert, even on the world map in certain zones, there is a chance for you to fall into a sink hole, and end up in a (cave) tunnel that is likely populated with hostile critters like ants, but maybe fire geckos or deathclaws. (Exit would need to be a new map, where you appear between some rocks - no way to re-enter the tunnel).
Support Perks Qualification Alert
Many times, characters will qualify for a new support perk but not know it. Once done with the tent quest at Level 2, that farm family moves back to their home and disappears. You never see them again. They and their farm could remain visible as (or become visible when) you qualify for additional support perks. You visit them later and talk to them again to find out.
More Skill Books
The addition of Skill Books to the game was an excellent enhancement. Now we have ways to boost some skills, up to 60 points each, by simply reading in-game book items we find or buy. The books that were added only affect some skills though, so a little more work on this will more complete this enhancement. It turns out, there are a few books in-game not being used for anything. So here is how this could be done:
* When you read 10 Guns-n-Bullets books, it boosts Small Guns. Keep this the same.
* When you read 10 more of them, it should boost Big Guns. So 20 Guns-n-Bullets books to boost BG skill.
* When you read 10 Dean's Electronics, you get bonus to Repair skill. Keep that.
* But when you read 10 more Dean's Electronics, it should boost Energy Weapons.
* The Lavender Flower is also in-game but not used. Apply it to Speech skill.
* Cat's Paw is also in-game but not used. Apply it to Sneak skill first, and the next 10 go to Gambling.
* Chemistry Journals are in-game but not used. Apply it to Traps skill for making explosives.
Find Chemistry Journals on the Stranded Rust. A solution is still needed to find solution for Lockpick, Close Combat, and Throwing.
Implants Other
The addition of implants to the game was another excellent enhancement, but we could have some other ones:
* Action Point Implant (2 max per character)
* Accuracy Implant
* Carry Weight Implant
* Crit Resistance Implant (2 max per character)
* Crit Power Implant (2 max per character)
* (Can you think of more? I bet you can.)
Improve Tanker Quest
Move the 3 oil into one of the end lockers past the boss robot, and remove the timer when fixing the valves, so one guy can do this alone. Finally, replace the "need oil" fix-valve requirement with "need Strength" requirement, to turn the stuck valves. These few changes will put the big prize of this quest at the end where big prizes belong, thus bringing value to fighting the boss robot, and also make this quest operable by a solo character (if he's strong enough). Still need to bring a friend if your Repair and ST are too low.
Vertibird Pilot
Nobody can just hop into a helicopter and fly it with no training. Idea is to qualify characters before they fly a vertibird, via a Support Perk. Meet the right NPC and beat his quests to get the perk.
Merchant Party
They yell at you if you have a weapon armed, but for "merchants" they never seem to barter anything. Idea is to give some inventory to these random merchants so they become an alternate source of caps and goods when known merchants are empty.
