This development idea has to do with simply copying maps of the existing random encounters multiple times, and altering them enough to broaden the map pool, so players don't get the same 10 random encounter maps as they travel around. The existing map pool for most zones is about 10. That means new players have seen almost every random enc map in the game inside of a few hours of play. After that, the world seems boring.
With a much larger number of maps in the pool per zone, the world will seem more varied, which will give players the sense there's a ton more out there to discover. If they get bored, at least it won't be due to knowing all of the maps.
A gallery of random encounter maps has been added to the game's main forum, here. This provides a visual reference for this project, which begins with merely copying each map from the map pool 10 or more times and renaming them (adding a letter on the end). Then editing each copy, alter things, and save. When done, zip em all up and send as file to Kilgore.
